What factors affect animal population growth?
Screen 9 of 9

SUMMARY
Beyond Isle Royale where scientists focus their attention on the moose and wolves, there are many other kinds of population-dynamics issues. Biologists study population ecology for a variety of reasons in applied sciences such as forestry, agronomy (crop science), and wildlife management.

The results of their studies often affect the management of crops that provide products people consume every day. Examples include examining the relationships of insects and disease in trees from which we get newspaper, and the environmental factors necessary to ensure high yields of corn from which we make tortillas, oils, and animal feed.
