SUMMARY
As shown, hormones activate target cells in a
number of ways. The end result is always that
the target cell responds to the hormonal signal
and produces a desired outcome.
This process is important in
controlling other processes such as reproduction,
growth, and electrolyte balance. Along with our
nervous system, our endocrine system is responsible
for maintaining homeostatsis.
