MULTIPLE AND ACCESSORY FRUITS
Multiple fruits are formed from the ovaries of several flowers on a common stalk. The common stalk often results in a hard center core around which the fleshy fruit is formed. Pineapples and mulberries are examples of multiple fruits.

The last main category of fruit is an accessory fruit. Accessory fruits are composed of material not only from the ovary but also from other parts of the flower such as the receptacle or even sepals. Apples are an example of an accessory fruit.
