Screen 2 of 3

OVERVIEW OF THE PLANT BODY
When you study the plant body, you may choose to look at the external structure, or you may start with the internal tissues.

The basic plant body consists of roots, stems, leaves, flowers, and fruits. The vegetative plant, before it produces flowers and fruits, consists of three organs: roots, stems, and leaves. The tissue systems (dermal tissue, vascular tissue, and ground tissue) are continuous from roots to leaves.
