Why do fungi reproduce both sexually and asexually?
Screen 6 of 6

SUMMARY
In summary, fungi are eukaryotic organisms that differ from plants and animals. Most fungi are composed of threadlike filaments called hyphae that extend into the environment and absorb nutrients. Spores that are easily dispersed are produced during reproduction in fungi and these spores are borne by special reproductive structures calld fruiting bodies. Reproduction in fungi can occur either asexually or sexually. During sexual reproduction, genes can be exchanged between fungal strains, enabling the offspring to display variation in traits.
