Why do fungi reproduce both sexually and asexually?
Screen 3 of 6

FUNGAL SPORES
Some hyphae give rise to fruiting bodies or reproductive hyphae, which are structures involved in the dispersal of fungal spores. Fungal spores are extremely light and are easily dispersed throughout the environment. Once a suitable environment is encountered, the spore germinates and sends hyphae into the environment to begin absorbing nutrients. The dispersion of fungal spores enables a fungus to quickly spread through the environment and utilize resources when they are abundant.
